Ever since I was little I have always been fascinated with the magnificent world of comics, movies, Saturday morning cartoons and the pop culture of the 80s that has shaped my generation. I was particularly affected by Christopher Reeve’s portrayal of Superman in the original 1978 movie which has become my main source of inspiration and fueled me with all the inspiration a person needs in his life. Being a highly visually oriented person, starting from a very young age, I began experimenting on various techniques for creating my own artworks. Sketching, painting programs, 3D programs, Scanning comics and doing collages… you name it I have tried it. In the end, through the guidance of my father, I have decided my camera would be my weapon of choice in creating my artworks.
After years of experimenting and an education on photography, I developed a special technique with a mixture of photography, model making (creating miniature sets for my scenes) and 3D imagery that I use in almost all my artworks. Being an action figure and movie memorabilia collector myself I always have a lot of cool props and collectibles under my hand which come in extremely handy in creating my setups. Over the years as my work has become more professional, I have also hired professional model makers to create custom made accessories for me. Now, I have an entire miniature heaven full of cool props that I play around with for every single one of my artworks.
Today, I also work as a professional advertising photographer, working with local & international clients and taking photos for their campaigns. I love my job and I can’t imagine doing anything else. I have four years of experience working in advertising agencies which I believe have helped me in meeting my clients needs today. This career and my fine art profile has been feeding of from one another for the last 12 years in a very positive way. In my experience they go hand-in-hand and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
My theme is called DREAMSANDHEROES and for me it is where real magic happens. I am excited to see what the future holds and I intend to enjoy the journey along the way.
